Photo model Stanley Steamer 1909
The Stanley Steamer is perhaps the best known of all the steam cars ever manufactured in this country. Many stories are told about the speed of this car. It is a fact that in its day it was one of the fastest cars known. It gave many years of dependable service and those still in existence are still capable of attaining fairly high speeds. The steam for our 1909 model was generated in a boiler located under the hood and the car was propelled by an engine under the rear seat that was hooked up directly to the rear axle.
